SwedCham is proud to be a supporting organization of the first Gay Games in Asia, taking place November 3-11.
Founded in 1982, the Games have become the world's largest inclusive sports, arts, and culture event open to everyone. Hong Kong has gotten the honor of hosting the 11th Gay Games, and it will be held at various arenas across the city. The Queen Elizabeth Stadium near Causeway Bay will host the opening and closing ceremonies, the martial arts and dodgeball events, as well as the gala concerts. Other confirmed venues include HKC Dragon Boat Association Training Centre, MacPherson Stadium, and Soho House.
There will be 17 competitive sports events at the Gay Games, such as swimming, fencing, marathons, and racquet sports. Typical Hong Kong activities like dragon boating and mahjong are also on the list of events. A Festival Village will be in place at the AIA Vitality Park featuring workshops, live performances, seminars and market stalls.
