We are delighted to invite you to a webinar with Eugenia Victorino, Head of Asia Strategy at SEB, who will give an update on the current economic situation with a focus on China.


After dropping its GDP growth target at the National People's Congress (NPC), China seems to be more practical in its assessment of the growth outlook. Yet, shifting the policy focus to employment would still require significant stimulus.


This webinar will cover these main questions:

  • How much fiscal support can we expect?
  • Is China setting up for another round of credit-driven recovery?
  • Where can the yuan go from here?


About the speaker:

Eugenia Victorino joined SEB in August 2018 as the Head of Asia Strategy focusing on macro research in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to SEB, Eugenia spent almost 6 years as an Economist at Australia & New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ Bank) in Singapore covering ASEAN and South Korea. She is a frequent speaker at major international media outlets like Bloomberg TV and BBC. She has also worked at ING Bank in Amsterdam focusing on country risk in Emerging Markets.

    Eugenia Victorino joined SEB in August 2018 as the Head of Asia Strategy focussing on macro research in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to SEB, Eugenia spent almost 6 years as an Economist at Australia & New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ Bank) in Singapore covering ASEAN and South Korea.

    She is a frequent speaker at major international media outlets like Bloomberg TV and BBC. She has also worked at ING Bank in Amsterdam focussing on country risk in Emerging Markets. Previously, she worked as a university lecturer handling Microeconomic Theory, Mathematics for Economics, and Statistics for Economics at Ca' Foscari University of Venice and Ateneo de Manila. Eugenia holds double bachelor degrees in Mathematics and Economics from the Ateneo de Manila University. She is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Italy), during which she spent some years as a graduate exchange student at the Universiteit van Amsterdam (the Netherlands).
