Swedish Ice Hockey in Hong Kong
The 2022 Winter Olympic Games, Beijing are approaching, and Chinese organizations, clubs, companies, investors, and federations are all reaching out to the Swedish Ice Hockey Association (SIHA) for help. Why? Because, as one of the great nations in ice hockey, as well as the current World Champion and as producer of top-level players, the Swedish Ice Hockey model stands strong internationally.
The SIHA President Anders Larsson and the Project Manager of Swedish Ice Hockey in China, Mikael Lundström will share their views and insights regarding Swedish ice hockey and the development of ice hockey in Hong Kong and China. The running project in Hong Kong, as well as the local organization Hong Kong Academy of Ice Hockey, will be presented. What are the challenges and the possibilities of implementing a Swedish Ice Hockey model in a country with no or little ice hockey culture?
The project is not just about ice hockey but also about connecting countries, cities, cultures and giving the youth of Hong Kong new perspectives and a chance to grow outside the rink.
