Sustainable Fashion has been discussed for quite a while, and we all know about the problems in the fashion industry (resource consumption, textile waste, carbon footprint, pollution etc). So what's holding us back from making progress? And what needs to change?

Welcome to a SwedTALK where you meet representatives working within fashion in different ways. Lauren Boucer from the Hong Kong-based NGO Redress will lead a discussion with Malin Lundahl, the Sustainability Manager from H&M, and Sarah Fung from Hula who decided to leave the big fashion brands to rather develop her own fashion business within the circular economy.

Some of the topics to be discussed

  • What does sustainability actually mean? Is anything around us really sustainable?
  • Where, on the scale of progress towards sustainability, are fashion brands today?
  • Circular business models like secondhand, rental and repair – is that the future? Or what are the challenges?
  • Are consumers willing to pay more for innovative materials, e.g. bio-based materials or recycled materials?
  • The future of Sustainability – is the responsibility only on the fashion industry or do we as consumers need to take a bigger part of this?

Who should attend?

Anyone interested in sustainable fashion and/or the future.
